Trigger - Recurly Subscription

The Recurly Subscription triggers allows you to add people to Journeys based on their Recurly Subscription status.

How to Configure the Recurly Subscription Trigger

Go to the Settings app and click "Recurly":

You will see your webhook URL. Copy it:

Now login to Recurly. In the bottom left hand side, click "Webhooks":

Click "Configure":

Paste the webhook URL you copied from Autopilot and click "Update Configuration":

Mapping Fields

The next step is to map Recurly's fields to Autopilot's fields.

In Autopilot's Recurly settings, click "Field Mappings":

Then follow these steps:

1. Click the "Add field" button

2. Choose the Recurly field you want to map to Autopilot, and then choose the corresponding Autopilot field (you can add a new custom field if you wish)

3. Click the "Update Recurly Mappings" button to make your changes live

4. You will see a green tick next to the field to let you know that it was successfully mapped

Using the Trigger

Now that you have configured Recurly, you are ready to start using the Recurly Subscription Triggers in your Journeys. Since there are a variety of ways to use this Trigger, here is an example:

This Journey sends a welcome email to a new subscriber, and also sends an internal email to my team letting them know we have a new customer.

Which contact does Autopilot associate the activity with?

Autopilot uses email to identify who the activity should be associated with. If a contact doesn't exist with that email address received from Recurly, Autopilot will create a new contact. There is no need to map the email field, this is done automatically for you in the background.

When the trigger fires for a particular contact, you will see a corresponding feed item in their activity feed. For example:

You can click on "Show updated fields" to see the information that came from Recurly as part of the trigger.
